Washington State Governor's Inaugural Ball

If you have not attended this event in the past, put it on your list of must dos! It is a "small intimate party" for the first 5,000 tickets sold.  The opening ceremony is filled with introductions of officials, toasts and great entertainment!   There is also something for everyone's musical liking in venues staged throughout the area for your listening and dancing delight!  Hope you will join us for the festivities in January, 2017!

Parking & Directions


From I-5 Southbound/Northbound:

  1. Take Exit 105 toward State Capitol/City Center
  2. Merge onto 14th Ave SE
  3. At the traffic circle, take the 2nd exit and stay on 14th Ave SE
  4. Keep LEFT to continue on Sid Snyder Ave SW

Parking is available in the Farmers Market, 724 Market Place, and Jefferson & Maple Park lots. There are over 350 spaces including 13 disabled spots. These lots are located along the Intercity Dash Shuttle route. The shuttle operates every 12-15 minutes and makes 3 stops before reaching the Capitol Building. See DASH schedule and map below.

    The Farmers Market Lot (located at 701 Capitol Way N) 

  • 229 total parking spaces
  • 8 handicap spaces

    724 Market Place (located next to Farmers Market)

  • 79 total parking spaces
  • 5 handicap spaces

    Jefferson & Maple Park (located at Maple Park Ave SE)

  • 50 total parking spaces

    On-Street Parking

  • On-street parking is available north of the Capitol Campus and in downtown Olympia at metered spaces. You do not have to pay to park at meters weeknights after 5 PM. 


In addition to the spaces referenced above, The City of Olympia allows holders of valid and properly displayed disabled parking permits (placards, license plates and tabs) free parking at any metered space with no time limitations. If you are using a placard, please be certain it is displayed from your rearview mirror or in full view on your dashboard. ADA parking on the Capitol Campus is available on a first-come, first-served basis.


The main venue entrance to the Ball (i.e., at the Flag circle) is accessible to participants with disabilities. To gain entry to the buildings, ADA attendees will need to exit the Ball’s main venue entrance and use the accessible entrances for either the Legislative Building or the Temple of Justice. The Inaugural Ball Committee will have a designated person to assist ADA participants.
